Parking

There are plenty of parking spaces available at the site. Please note that while we can park you right at the venue, there is only one entrance and exit so there might be a short queue while you exit the site.

Information

An information point will be located near to the start / finish area.

Baggage

Although we cannot guarantee the security of your bags, there will be a manned baggage area for you to leave your bags in. If you have travelled by car, it will be safer to leave your bags and valuables in your car boot.

Changing

Men and Women's changing marquees will be available. You should arrive in your running clothes but please bring another complete set of warm clothing with you. Do not go home in any wet clothing. Please note that there are no showers.

What to Wear?

Clothing

You will get dirty and wet. We recommend that you wear a synthetic T-shirt or long sleeve shirt on your upper body and possibly some running tights on your legs. The materials should ideally wick away sweat and dry quickly when wet. Cotton garments are not suited for the conditions. Morden technical breathable fabrics are perfect for this event and you are strongly recommended to wear this type of garment. Remember, that when cotton gets wet it gets heavy and you can get cold in the process.

Footwear

Off-road running shoes would be ideal for the terrain.

Course

The land is used to test Tanks and Army vehicles so expect it to be interesting! The first part of the course takes you along wooded and gravel foot paths over undulating terrain. You will reach the top of Sidbury Hill after approx. 3 miles before heading down on to the Tank driver testing area.

The course then takes you over the tank testing tracking and through a number of water filled dips and through a number of large puddles.

You will be required to crawl under camouflage netting which could also be filled with water. You will eventually reach some Tank driving inclines followed by a gentle incline to the top of the peak before heading for home and the finish line.

Expect to get very wet and have fun!

Timing

We will be using ChampionChip timing for this event. This will give you your time from the second you cross the line to the second you finish. The system is extremely accurate and it means that results can be posted on our website within a couple of hours of the race. Your race chip will be sent with the race pack no earlier than October 1st as runners tend to loose the chip. The chips themselves are relatively expensive so we must get the chips back. If you cannot make the race, please return your chips in the envelope that will be provided or we will charge you £10. At the run, we'll collect the chips back after the finish line

First Aid

Medical support will be present at various points on the course and at the start/finish area. You should be relatively fit and have no known medical conditions. Please note - do not run with a cold or flu. This can be extremely dangerous.

Toilets

Start and finish area.

Water

Water will be available once on the course and at the finish. Please bring your own water to drink prior to the start.
