SUNDAY JANUARY 11th 2026
'
'Entries are now open for the next GRIM Challenge for both 4-miles and 8-miles. You will note that we have had to change the date from the one that was originally advertised. The land we use for the race is military land and as the military now require the facility in December we have been forced to move our date. It is not ideal but we hope you will embrace a January GRIM as part of a 'New Year, New You' challenge.
Please note numbers will be sent out to you in December. Late number collection will be available from RACE HQ on Sunday January 11. Click on the link above for final instructions for last year's race. We will update the final instructions for this year soon.
Welcome to the GRIM Challenge.
For nearly 20 years the GRIM Challenge has been a benchmark for 'adventure' running, an inclusive type of wet, muddy trail racing that is as much fun as it is challenging.
The GRIM challenge is run in the winter over army vehicle testing ground in Aldershot and is known for thick glutinous mud, waist-high water and bone chilling conditions. It is usually run in early December but the '2025 race' has pushed back to January 11 to accommodate a military priority for the facility.

Our charity partner ...
Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, they've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict. With the help of Combat Stress, veterans can tackle the past and take on the future.
To help veterans rebuild their lives, the charity provides a range of free services online, in the community and at our treatment centres including psychiatric and psychological treatment; substance misuse management; art therapy; occupational therapy; peer support; family support; online self-help materials and a 24-hour Helpline (0800 138 1619).
Robert Marsh, Director of Fundraising at Combat Stress, said: “We are extremely grateful to be the Charity Partner for this event.
“Last year almost 14,000 veterans benefited from our help, with demand for our services remaining constant. Every donation we receive helps us to meet the needs of veterans who turn to us for support. Our specialist treatment doesn’t just change lives, it saves them too.”
Make your run count and set up a fundraiser or donate to Combat Stress today. Your fundraising efforts will make a huge difference to the lives of the former servicemen and women who turn to them for support.
